At CCA, we believe every human being is made in the image of God. Creativity is one of the attributes of God, first mentioned in Genesis 1:1, which we seek to cultivate in our students. Music is referenced numerous times throughout scripture, in praise to God and for the encouragement of the saints (Ephesians 5:18-21; Psalm 150). We seek to provide an environment within which students may grow in knowledge of and experience in singing, playing instruments, reading music,  appreciating music from varying cultures and genres, and working together as a group. All of this is done with the aim of growing in musicality to the Glory of God and the encouragement of others.

Students at CCA can be involved in music at any level. Kindergarten – 5th grade students have a general music class and a singing class once per week. Prekindergarten students have general music class four days per week, depending on their full-time or part-time attendance. 6th-8th grade students participate in one general music class and two choir classes per week. 9th-12th grade students may elect to take high school choir, meeting twice per week. Instrumental ensembles, made up of various levels of students and kinds of instruments, meet once per week. Elementary and high school Christmas and spring concerts are held annually. Students are also annually chosen to attend the NYSSMA Solo Festival, Cedarville University’s Music Showcase weekend, and the Area All-State festival.

“Oh sing to the Lord a new song; sing to the Lord, all the earth! Sing to the Lord, bless his name; tell of his salvation from day to day.” – Psalm 96:1-2
